Whether you love cleaning or not, sweeping way the dust and mess that builds up all winter is very satisfying. It makes you feel ready to dive into summer and fully enjoy it! But that’s just one reason why spring cleaning is so important. Spring cleaning makes your home inhospitable to insects and other pests, which are increasing like crazy now that the warm weather is back.

In our last blog, we discussed the importance of eliminating crumbs from under your appliances as well as how to keep sewer flies at bay by cleaning your drains. Today, we have two more spring cleaning tips for you!

Inspect as You Clean

Insects don’t need an open door to get into your home (though they will certainly take advantage of one). Their small size enables them to get through cracks and small holes. As you clean, look for insect entry points and repair them with caulk. It can make all the difference!

Don’t Neglect Your Cabinets

Cabinets are kind of the keyboard of the kitchen – they get covered with fingerprints and tiny splatters of food. Not only that, people assume that they are clean inside because the doors stay shut a majority of the time. Don’t be one of these people! Wipe your cabinets out to make sure nobody’s set up camp in that weird back corner. You can get the fronts looking like new with a magic eraser or a cloth. Your whole kitchen will smile!
